The terms, honestly.

The agreement between you and Flirk: what you can expect, what we ask of you, how payments work, and what happens when the rules are broken.

1Agreeing to these Terms

These Terms are an agreement between you and Flirk (“Flirk”, “we”, “us”). They cover the Flirk app on Android and iOS and the website letsflirk.com. The Community rules are part of these Terms. The Privacy policy explains how we handle your personal data.

You accept these Terms when you tap Send code to sign up. If you do not agree, do not use Flirk.

We may change these Terms. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to tell you, for example in the app, before it takes effect. If you keep using Flirk after that, you accept the change; if you do not accept it, you can delete your account.

You can ask us for these Terms in English or in any language listed in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India.

2Who can use Flirk, and your account

  • You must be 18 or over and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law. You may not use Flirk if we have banned you before, or if you have been convicted of a sexual or violent offence.
  • One person, one account. Your phone number is your login. Keep it and your phone secure: you are responsible for everything done from your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it.
  • Tell the truth. What you tell us, including your date of birth, must be accurate. Your selfie must be a live photo of you. Some details cannot be changed after signup.
  • Pausing and deleting. You can pause or delete your account from the app at any time. When an account is deleted, any credits and items in it are forfeited without refund. The Privacy policy explains what happens to your data.

3The service

Flirk lets you build a profile (your World), start conversations with other people by writing to them, chat and play games. The app shows how each feature works and any limits on its use.

Some features are free up to a limit and cost credits beyond it. The app shows the current limits and prices before you use them.

We are always improving Flirk. We may add, change, limit or remove any feature, limit or price at any time, and we may stop offering Flirk altogether.

We do not promise that you will meet anyone, that anyone will reply to you, or that Flirk will always be available or free of errors.

4How you may use Flirk

Follow the Community rules. In addition, you must not post, send or share anything that:

  • belongs to someone else and that you have no right to share;
  • is obscene, pornographic or paedophilic, or invades another person’s privacy, including their bodily privacy;
  • harasses, threatens or insults anyone, including on the basis of gender, or is hateful or racially or ethnically objectionable;
  • is harmful to a child;
  • infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark or other rights;
  • deceives or misleads, including impersonating someone or attempting a scam;
  • promotes money laundering, gambling or any other illegal activity;
  • threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, public order or friendly relations with other countries;
  • contains a virus or other code meant to harm or interfere with any system; or
  • otherwise breaks any law.

You must also not misuse Flirk: no scraping, copying, bots or other automation, no reverse engineering, no more than one account, no getting around a limit, a block, a suspension, a ban or the stores’ billing, and no using Flirk to sell, advertise or ask anyone for money.

We may use automated tools and human review to find content and behaviour that break these Terms. We do not review everything, and we are not responsible for what other users post or do.

5Payments, credits and digital items

All purchases are made through Google Play or the App Store, under their terms. We never receive your card or bank details. The price, including any tax, is shown in the store’s payment sheet before you pay.

Credits and any other digital items you buy are a personal, limited right to use features of Flirk. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for money, and can be used only in Flirk. We may change what they unlock and what things cost.

Purchases are final. Refunds are decided by Google or Apple under their own policies; we do not give refunds except where the law requires it.

6Your content, and ours

You own what you write, record and photograph on Flirk. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, copy, adapt (for example, to create your portrait), display and share that content, only to run, improve and keep Flirk safe, and to let our service providers do the same for us. The licence ends when the content or your account is deleted, except for content we keep as the Privacy policy describes.

You confirm that you have the right to share what you post, and that your selfie and any photos you add are of you.

Do not copy or share other people’s content from Flirk without their permission.

Flirk itself, including its name, logo, design, portrait style and everything we write for it, belongs to us or our licensors. You may use it only to use Flirk.

We may remove or restrict any content that we reasonably believe breaks these Terms or the law.

7Your safety

We do not run background checks and cannot verify what people say about themselves. You are responsible for how you deal with other users, on Flirk and off it. If you decide to meet someone, meet in a public place and tell a friend. Never send money to someone you have not met.

Report anyone who makes you feel unsafe, from the app or by writing to us. In an emergency, call 112.

8Suspension and termination

If we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms or the law, or that your account puts others at risk, we may, with or without notice, remove your content, restrict features, suspend your account, or close it permanently and take steps to stop you from coming back.

Some breaches lead straight to a permanent ban, including anything involving a child, credible threats of violence, scams and impersonation.

Deleting your account does not undo any action we have taken. Credits and items are not refunded when an account is suspended or closed.

If you think we got it wrong, write to our grievance officer (see Reach us).

You can stop using Flirk at any time by deleting your account. If we stop offering Flirk, we will give reasonable notice where we can, and these Terms will end.

9Child safety standards

These are Flirk’s standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). They apply to the Flirk app, to letsflirk.com, and to everyone who uses them.

Adults only

Nobody under 18 may use Flirk. We check age at signup and refuse anyone under 18, and the app is rated for adults only. An account found to belong to someone under 18 is closed.

Zero tolerance

We prohibit, absolutely, any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits, grooms, solicits or endangers a child. That includes sexualised imagery or text involving a minor, any attempt to contact or arrange to meet a minor, and any request for or sharing of child sexual abuse material. It applies everywhere on Flirk, and breaking it ends the account immediately.

How to report

  • In the app: choose Report on any profile, chat or game, then Under 18.
  • By email, from inside or outside Flirk, to childsafety@letsflirk.com. Include the person’s first name and anything else that helps us find the account.

What happens next

We review every report and act promptly. Where we find child sexual abuse material, or conduct that endangers a child, we remove it, permanently ban the account, preserve the evidence, and report it to the appropriate law-enforcement authorities in India and to any other authority the law requires. We cooperate with lawful requests from those authorities.

Point of contact

Questions about these standards, from users, parents, researchers, app stores or authorities, go to childsafety@letsflirk.com. The person behind that address is responsible for child safety at Flirk.

The law

Flirk complies with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its Rules, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, including the duty to report child sexual abuse material and to process no personal data of a child.

10Our responsibility to you

Flirk is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about Flirk beyond those in these Terms, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any user, on Flirk or off it.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, opportunity, reputation or profit. Our total liability to you for all claims about Flirk is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and ₹1,000.

You agree to make good any loss or claim we face because you broke these Terms or the law, or because of content you posted.

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have as a consumer that the law does not allow to be limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

11Governing law, disputes and general terms

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If something goes wrong, write to our grievance officer first; most things are settled there. Anything that is not is subject to the courts at Mumbai, India, without affecting any consumer forum you are entitled to approach.

If you downloaded the app from Google Play or the App Store, that store’s terms also apply to your use of it. The stores are not responsible for Flirk or its content.

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms, including to a company formed to run Flirk. You may not transfer yours.

These Terms, with the Community rules, are the whole agreement between you and us about Flirk. If any part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. If we do not enforce a term at some point, we have not given it up.

12Reach us

Our grievance officer, appointed under India’s Information Technology Rules, is named in the app under Account › Safety centre › Seek help, and can be reached at grievances@letsflirk.com. Complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days.

For anything about your personal data, see the Privacy policy; the same address works.
